Industrial Sites & Incentives

The City of Park Falls has a mission to "Bridge Nature with Industry". The City has three TIF districts currently and two developed industrial parks. Depending on the nature of the project, sources of assistance and funding may include one or more of the following incentives:

  • City of Park Falls Industrial Park Land Incentive
  • Revolving Loan Fund Assistance
  • City of Park Falls cooperation in Community Development Block Grant Funding (CDBG)
  • Wisconsin development Zone Community Tax Incentives
  • TIF Incentive
  • Local Banking Assistance for Economic Development Projects
  • City Assistance in evaluation of development project and assistance with appropriate sources of funding.

    Transportation
    State Highways 13 and 182 intersect at Park Falls, while State Highway 70 lies 4 miles to the south. Several interstate and intrastate trucking firms serve Park Falls daily. Regularly scheduled air passenger service is available at Rhinelander (65 miles), while local service is available at the Park Falls airport, which has a 3,200 foot runway. The Wisconsin Central Railroad offers rail service, which intersects the Park Falls Industrial Park.

    The City of Park Falls maintains a low insurance rating and has a 2006 tax rate of $25.84 per $1,000 of assessed value.

    Community Assistance
    Park Falls has an active development group eager to assist existing and new business with site, building and financial packaging needs. A variety of federal, state and local funding programs are available. Local banks are ready to assist qualified projects.

    Utilities
    Xcel Energy (formally Northern States Power Company) provides Park Falls with electricity and natural gas at rates that are among the lowest in the country. The city of Park Falls' wells and treatment facilities have been retrofitted and have sufficient excess capacity to meet the city's growth well into the future.

    Park Falls is served by a modern telephone network, including fiber optic phone lines and cellular telephone capability. Incorporated municipalities offer cable television service.
